red gerbera tattooMy girl bought me a red gerbera daisy today. Or maybe it's a dahlia. It's faux, and it's from Target, but at any rate, I thought it matched the red in the maple leaf over the heart of my totem eagle tattoo beautifully. I've been asked about the symbolism in my tat before: 1) I'm Canadian and will always be Canadian, in spite of where I live, hence the maple leaf over the heart. 2) My daughter was born, and I've made my home, in the US - the symbol of which is the eagle. 3) I was born under the eagle moon. 4) There's an "E" for Emma on the left wing, and an "M" for Me on the right wing. 5) My brother and my sister were both born in Vancouver (technically New Westminster), hence the "totem" styling. 6) My degree is in Linguistics, focusing on First Nations languages. The dove represents their marriage, (35years allready!) and the heart that the dove carries in form of a ribbon symbolizes the love that they give me every day!
