koi leg tattoosThis is my first real attempt at using Photoshop for anything other that cropping and basic adjustment. I had fun with the liquefy, whirl clockwise and the underwater filter. Combine that with the cropping and it is hard to tell it is my leg. I think I will attempt this again later on with a freshly shaved leg to remove the hair which are clearly visible when viewed at larger sizes.

leg sleeve tattooThis piece is still very much a work in progress, but it's come a long way since I first posted photos of it. After the addition of more colour on both the rosettes and the bunnyfish, the addition of some bunnyfish silhouettes, and a few touch-ups, this piece will finally be complete - probably doable in one solid session that I'm hoping to schedule before the end of the year. I am delighted. After this is done it'll be time to complete the sleeve on my right arm and then take a tattoo break for a while. Today's lesson: It's surprisingly challenging to take photos of your own leg without making it look like some sort of weird alien limb. I'll be sure to have some help when this piece is completed and it's time for final photos. And, yes, my legs really are that pale. :p

leg tattoo sleeveThese shots look a little funny because I took them myself and rotated them to be viewed easier. I sat for another 3 hours session, making this 9 hours on the ship and 6 hours on my mermaid. I have about 3-6 more hours to go to completely finish my leg sleeve and I cannot wait to see it finished. It has turned into a masterpiece that I did not even imagine could look as good as it does. My ankle is so swollen I know have a cankle. This morning I got out of bed and just about fell flat on my face. From lying down all night my skin tightened and because I was so swollen I couldn't flex my foot let alone put pressure on it. Its a little better this evening but if I sit too long it will tighten back up, causing me to limp. Oh the pain and pleasure from getting new ink... Explored #185 May 4, 2008
