Hanabusa Aido in a pinch - vampire knight
well...here is the finished version ^_^ finally.... this was commissioned by a friend ( she just has a crush on Idol-senpai :P) this was a challenge from many points of view 1. the light was inspired from sakimichan's pics sakimichan.deviantart.com/ 2. since he's a vampire and the hole anime has gothic atmosphere to it i had to dress her in a gothic outfit but since she's not religious and dislikes emokids i couldn't use crosses or skulls ( which usually are associated with the gothic stile ) 3. the background was hard to choose...i couldn't make up my mind ) 4. aido's expression was hard to make .. and it was inspired by one of heise's sketches heise.deviantart.com/ 5. in the end the hole chinese - gothic outfit came out pretty well , the jewelry had me busting my brains for a while cuz my friend's stile is more like those pussy cat dolls singers 6. i do not know how to draw wings or ha.

535/731 - Tutu and Tattoo
Well, here it is in all of it's gorgeous glory. Jason, you were right, it was a ventricle! :) Alright, so backstory. My mom raised me essentially alone. She and my father divorced when I was barely a few months old. He pretty much wasn't in my life, very occasional visits, and a phone call on my birthday and Christmas, in which he'd usually talk to my brother more anyway. (My brother was 7 when my parents divorced, so he'd always had a better relationship with him.) It wasn't easy for my mom to raise my brother and I. We were on WIC and welfare, my father was shitty about paying child support, and we usually got our clothes at second hand stores unless someone else in the family was buying them for us. She managed to get a nursing degree by the time I was 4, and worked full time at a nursing home. My brother moved away when I was 11 or so, and my mom and I started to become a lot c.
Dia de los Muertos
Almost completed design for a tee. I'm fascinated by the Day of the Dead festival in Hispanic culture. I love the melting together of celebration and morbidity - the proliferation of sugared skulls, decorated skulls, shrines, candles, masses of flowers. It reminds me a little of the aesthetic and mood of the Baz Lurhmann film 'Romeo and Juliet' - which was obviously inspired in part by aspects of that culture. I drew reference from a human skull, marigold flowers and roses, plus also from traditional tattoo designs for the heart, crown, ribbon, butterflies and birds. Some freehanded candles, blossoms and two stars finish it off. I took it all into Illustrator and created clean linework - then hand rendered the colour with pencils (took approx 8 hours non stop). Once I get my silly programs working again I'll clean it up in Photoshop - the skull actually has beautiful blue gradien.

Is this too porny? I guess I'll know if I start getting favorites from a bunch of Greys. I was productive today. I went to the grocery store. I got my eyebrows waxed. I looked into some things I'd been thinking about. I think I'm finally going to buy the stupid repair and get my laptop fixed up. It's been being a total bitch the past week or so. I can't take it much more..
