I've been thinking about getting a half sleeve for a few months now and knew I had to have it done when I saw the bamboo tattoos being done in Ko Phangan. 15 hours later here it is. Incidentally, the guy who did the tattoo's name was Luk (pronounced "luck")..

Healing from the Heart
Kathryn was a tattoo artist for several years of her life when she lived in Victoria , mostly focusing on magical designs for women. Before she inked her first client, she tattooed herself on her own right forearm (she was left handed). The design she invented for herself is a lotus flower with a caduceus springing forth from its center, which meant 'Healing from the Heart', the will made manifest by physical action. It was a design I always loved seeing on her as it was completely her, and very much resonated with my personal values for compassionate action. I really missed seeing it when her body was cremated, and felt the loss of her physical body with which she could be the change she wanted to see in the world. Rowan ( Purple Dragon NW ) has inked a mirror image of this tattoo on my left forearm, with some minor color changes. I'm proud to carry Kathryn's art as an uneraseable p.
