OK...so now I know how hard it is to take a photo of my own arm, LOL. I thought I'd give you a close-up of my ongoing full sleeve, it's been completely outlined but the 'colouring in' is only halfway...quite a few sessions to go already! 55 - Wrapped in clingfilm?!
24th February 2007 Sorry if the title scared you...me in clingfilm (ceramwrap) is not a thought to be subjected to over breakfast, haha. This however, is my arm in Bepanthen nappy cream and clingfilm - the best way to keep a new tattoo clean and treated. As you can see my elbow is now hugely swollen and quite bruised (the inner/outer elbow in the slightly brighter blue is where the work has been done), and is very, very painful - more so than having the actual tattoo done. It's all worth it in the long term...honest!!.
Mercedes' new tattoo
Mercedes, 21, got a new tattoo, her third. That I know of. It's a saying, on her forearm. Sigh. Personally, I took this photo for the same reason people took photos of the Hindenberg blowing up. I know I am conservative in my dress and appearance, but....what's wrong with a little heart on your shoulder blade? Or a bunny on your ankle? Did it have to be a huge saying on your forearm? Is that permanent? The tatto artist forgot a comma. Oops. Hopefully he gets the next one right. My wife assures me that she sees people with tattoos at work, and Mercedes says what helped her decide it was okay was seeing a doctor with tattoos. Who knew doctors had a responsibility as role models? I don't know any CEO's with tattoos. I'm just saying. Not that being a CEO is necessarily good, but why do something that will limit your choices later in life? At least it's a pretty cool saying. From a goo.

Reflection
This was such a fun shoot. I'm still going through the photographs. Strobist: Vivitar 283 on DIY soft box (1/3 power) at left as mainlight. My assistant held a reflector against the left side of the box to create more dramatic falloff on that side. Fill provided by a Canon 430EXii (1/2 power) on my DIY beauty dish (set on top of a stool) at right. Triggered by Cactus V2 and C2s..
Dog Tattoos
These are tattoos of the lady's dogs. I met her at the Maryland Sheep and Wool festival, saw the tatto, and asked if I could photograph them. She said, "These are my dogs." The artwork was technically excellent. If you have to get a tattoo, these are unique and a very nice tribute to a beloved pair of pets....
