Taken for a final project in Drawing 200; based on the idea that sometimes, you can only see the condition. Hand drawn on trekkerj1 with: eye pencil, eyeliner, mascara, Hello Kitty glitter eye shadow, regular eyeshadow, charcoal, conte crayon, chalk, and canola oil. Day 48 of 365 days . Won my nightly poker game in record time and then I was just sitting up watching TV (I don't sleep much) and when midnight hit, I decided to get a jump on todays self portrait. I was especially eager since what I had planned seemed like it was going to take a while. In actuality I got it done in a little over two hours. This is actually what i initially had planned for yesterday, and its an idea that I had been toying with in my head for weeks. In fact the portrait from Day 30/9-10-06 uses the same basic techniques. What we have here is a "self portrait" in pretty much every single sense of the word. Sometimes silly photoshop tricks just amuse me. Its amazing what you can do with a camera, a pad of paper, a computer and a wacom sketch tablet. 365 days.
Day 339: Here, All Your Dreams Come True.

I didn't think I was going to use this as my 365, but I literally have been working on it All Day since the moment I woke up, with a one hour break - I actually willingly went to the mall to get away from the computer. My argument against it as a 365 is that it's my memory of us in January. But my argument for it is that it's also the future, a living memory, a dream, our Big Gay Wedding. And that it's really my day, and also a self portrait. So damnit! Don't ask me to get any more portraitie! I'm not a natural artist, but I do a decent job when I spend enough time pushing and tweaking. I was up drawing the sketch until 7am last night. As soon as I woke up, I got back to it*, and I inked it while Xe and I skyped. It's almost 5am and I just finished it. It is: - A drawing of us fully naked, graphite + shading. - Reference materials: lots of tutu photos, 365s, and Doug's d.
