46 - Second Part of My Tattoo
I got tattooed for the 2nd time by James Kern today. He tattooed me at a convention. I'd never been to a tattoo convention before so it was quite the experience. James is absolutely amazing. I'm honored that he is tattooing me. Today he did the outline of me Temple Lion (Foo Dog). Next he will color it and put waves around both pieces of the tattoos he's done on me so far. The final part is a piece he's putting on my back. More to come.....
Imperial Gaurdian Lion (Foo Dog)
Here are the results of session one "the chest" This will be a full sweep of my chest covering up the Taurus on the left. The chest has thus far been the most painful but yet tolorable I chose a Foo Dog which is also know as an Imperial Guardian Lion or lion of Buddha. The following is an excerpt from wikipedia: An imperial guardian lion, also called a Fu Lion, Foo Dog, lion of Buddha, or sometimes stone lion (Pinyin: Shíshī) in Chinese art[1], is a common representation of the lion in pre-modern China, which is believed to have powerful mythic protective powers that has traditionally stood in front of Chinese Imperial palaces, temples, emperors' tombs, government offices, and the homes of government officials and the wealthy from the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD), until the end of the empire in 1911. In Tibet, the guardian lion is known as a Snow Lion and similar to Japanese shishi.
Foo Dog Tattoo
Results are in from the 2nd session. Ouch!.
227 - Tattoo pt. 6
I had my 6th session with James today. It's about 30 hours of work done now. I have to say that today that the work all started coming together today. Instead of feeling like I have a bunch of separate tattoos it started to feel like the scene and imagery I wanted when I started this process. James is an amazing artist and, again, I am so thankful and happy that he is working on me..
258 - Tattoo pt. 7
Today I got the tattoo on my chest finished and connected to my arm piece. Almost finished. There's still a bit of work to do in the connection and then I will start on the back part. Once again, it was great watching James work and have him put his art on me..
